In Middle School, students develop physical fitness and coordination skills while learning the importance of teamwork, sportsmanship, and fair play. The curriculum becomes more sports-oriented as students learn to use skills developed in earlier years. A well-rounded physical education program in fifth and sixth grades, which includes soccer, touch football, baseball, wrestling, basketball, floor hockey, volleyball, and track and field, provides opportunities for healthy competition and exposure to rules, strategies, and tactics of a number of sports. Interscholastic sports competition starts in seventh grade. IVY Road fields teams in cross-country, soccer, basketball, wrestling, baseball, lacrosse, and track. In seventh and eighth grades students will either participate on teams or continue in regular physical education classes
